Network File Services…in a compact, lightweight footprint. With up to 1 Terabyte of solid state drive capacity, the avWIFI can provide file storage and management services. As an OnBoard Network Server, the avWIFI supports applications such as distribution and loading of software parts and Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) operations.
The avWIFI also provides a software framework that enables operators to develop their own applications to access avWIFI based features and services.

Access Flight Data Instantly…in real-time
With its router capabilities avWIFI provides the necessary high-throughput capabilities to update IFE systems, electronic flight bags, onboard maintenance terminals (such as Avionica’s RSU II OnBoard), and other Ethernet-enabled mass-storage systems. Automatic download of Ethernet enabled quick access records (such as Avionica’s miniQAR) can also be accomplished without human intervention. The future of avionics is wireless, and avWIFI is that future.
When combined with Avionica’s avRDC (Remote Data Concentrator), the avWIFI provides an aircraft interfaces (AID) functions by delivering flight data, in real-time, to onboard, IP-Based, non-traditional avionics such as EFBs and IFE systems. Additionally, the combination of Avionica’s avRDC and avWIFI can also replace the Airborne Data Loader with a wireless enabled alternative that supports full 615-4 and 615A Data loading capacity. This feature allows operators to streamline their data loading processes by eliminating the need to reproduce, distribute and load countless floppy disk every month. Instead, loadable parts are distributed automatically and wirelessly to the aircraft where the data is staged for data loading at the push of a button.
Extend your Cabin Network...Wirelessly
avWiFi combines two 10/100 Mbit Ethernet ports with an 802.11 a/b/g/n access point to enable wireless connections from wireless devices (such as EFBs, PEDs, tablets, smart phones, etc.), to wired devices (such as Aircraft Interface Devices (AIDs), Quick Access Recorders (QARs), or even SATCOM devices). Among its many uses, the avWiFi can enable multiple wireless VoIP cabin handsets to make and receive satellite voice calls when integrated with Avionica’s satLINK MAX SATCOM LRU.
Synchronized
Used with our avSYNC Data Synchronization Software, avWIFI establishes an authenticated and encrypted log-on automatically as the aircraft enters the system’s wireless network. Within moments, it communicates with the Airside Local Area Network and initiates all scheduled data transfers without human intervention, minimizing both labor and material costs, and eliminating the possibility of misplaced media and lost data. This router function eliminates the cost and delay of traditional aircraft media such as paper charts, optical disks, PCMCIA cards, USB keys, etc. Multiple STC’s available. Please contact Avionica for details.
